Summary

'Respiration' is an urban renewal project located in Acıbadem and focuses on residential buildings that have deteriorated over time around Berk Street, Fethi Street and Baytur Complex. The project proposes to demolish old or unused structures and build 5 blocks according to a new layout plan.

The layout design adopts the 15-minute city concept, which emphasizes that residents can reach almost all their needs (markets, gyms, swimming pools, pharmacies, etc.) within 15 minutes.

The design approach revolves around the concepts of vertical forest and privacy. The floors are set back 1 meter from the columns, creating a pool for each apartment, and supporting privacy. In addition, 2-meter overhangs are created. These areas are not only structurally supported, but also provide residents with natural spaces, offering extensive landscape areas. In addition, terraces located on both sides of the blocks offer functions such as jacuzzis and Japanese fire pits.

Since the project area is located between two main roads, a passage connecting these two roads has been opened. It is envisaged that this area will be supported by commercial activities.

All block roofs within the site are covered with solar panels and circulation areas are covered with kinetic panels. The project can produce 12% more energy than its own needs. Similarly, carefully selected construction materials were used for recycling.

In the landscape design, as much green space as possible has been preserved. The parking area has been built completely underground and external facilities (tennis courts, volleyball courts, swimming pools, etc.) have been added. In addition, there is an open-air amphitheater for community events and public use within the site."
