Summary

'Duft/Esans' is a renovation project of the Ormsund container port ( Ormsundkaia ) in Oslo/Norway.

Our executive architect suggested that the Ormsund container port had lost its former importance in recent years, and therefore a renewal project should be carried out with a new function, and proposed a cultural centre complex project in the region.

A decision was made about the feasibility of the project, which would have the potential to be a cultural landmark rather than a container terminal to be renovated.

The proposed new Cultural Center Complex includes functions such as a 1000-seat auditorium, training areas for pre-professional and professional groups, a secondary amphitheater, a 14,700-square-meter modern art gallery, restaurant and cafeteria areas, a library, a study hall, multi-purpose halls, workshop areas, an accommodation area for artists with a capacity of 200 people, an open-air amphitheater with a capacity of 800 people on the rooftop, and a 7,600-square-meter rooftop green terrace.
